Proven Success

Every year, students successfully complete their training and treatment in the Institution, and they have been placed in proper jobs. The Institution does a regular follow-up of these students, to ensure and rejoice in their progress. The disability of several mentally challenged individuals was transformed into working ability at The Rotary Institute. To name a few….

 

D. Nandakumar, who has had 13 years training in the Institution, is working as a workshop assistant. He is one of the brightest assistants there, says the workshop owner.
S. Siva Kumar, who had only 3 years training in the Institution, is effectively working as an assistant in a tailoring shop. He Seems to love his job and so does his boss.
S. Anoop, who had 10 years training in the training , is presently employed in a petrol pump on an experimental basis. He had been able to satisfactory discharge the duties entrusted to him there.
S. Aneesh, who had 3 years training in the Institution, is now working an assistant in a tea-shop. He is safe and happy working there.
N. Appu, one of the students of the institution has been absorbed as a helper, after successfully under-going training for the last 10 years

 

Achievements

The students participated in the South Zonal Meet of the Special Olympics at Kollam and the achievements were tremendous. The students won 30 gold, 21 silver and 30 bronze medals.

 

The institution was also judged the Best Special School for the March Past In The Special Olympics organized by YWCA, Kollam.? Those who won first, second or third places in the Zonal meet participated in the State Meet and Cochin. Out Of these, 6 Students won gold, 13 Silver and 22 bronze medals.

 

Four students from the institution were selected for The National Special Olympics which was held in Hyderbad, Organized by the NIMH. The students were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in different games.

 

The students also participated in the All Kerala Special School Cultural Meet,? in items like solo song, group music, solo dance, group dance, elocution, mimicry and fancy dress and came out with flying colors.

 

The mentally handicapped students have also participated in the Indian Trade Fair Foundation. And The BalaMela ( A children?s festival ) for variety entertainments such as Bharatnatyam (A Form of Indian Classical Dance) Nadodi dance (A folk dance), Break dance, solo dance etc. Our children competed with normal students and won merit certificates and prizes.
